Dual Sport Heim Joint Steering System, 1966-77 Bronco

$619.90

(5 customer reviews)

Installation Note:
Before Purchasing:

•In order to place your order, you must choose a Knuckle Mounting kit. This new Heim steer system no longer comes with the expensive knuckle mounting bolts. This saves you money towards purchasing one of the other NO DRILL knuckle mounting options. NOTE: If you are mounting your new heim steer above the knuckle (TRO) you will need to drill out your knuckles

•This system is compatible with '66-'77 Broncos with a factory-style frame, steering gearbox & front axle. It is up to the customer to verify they have these components before purchasing this system. If they do not have all 3 of these, they will need to measure here and possibly buy a custom setup.

•The new Dual sport heim steer (#5641) has recently been modified to accept a steering stabilizer. If you bought a 5641 before February of '22 it will be listed on your shipping invoice as 5641B and WILL NOT be able to mount a steering stabilizer to it using the mount kit we offer.

All Dual Sport Heim Steer Systems bought after February of '22 will be listed as a 5641C on the shipping invoice and WILL be able to mount our steering stabilizer kit to it.

If you have a 5641B and would like to mount a steering stabilizer to it, please contact our tech department.

Information

Replace your weak, rock-rashed stock or poorly designed aftermarket steering with one of our TUFF new Dual Sport heim joint steering systems!

We've taken our tried and true heim joint steering systems up another level. This system now has the ability to fine tune and adjust your alignment specs without having to take anything apart.

We use a tapered heim stud at the pitman arm that allows more articulation than a standard heim plus it completely eliminates the need to drill out your pitman arm! NOT recommended for use at the knuckle & comes standard now with all our heim steer systems. The tapered heim stud comes with a solid tapered sleeve pre-installed. This sleeve can easily be removed if you are using a pitman arm for a '66, '76, or '77 Bronco.

(For street-driven vehicles, check your local regulations before ordering. Some states will not pass inspection with heim joints in the steering system.) Please note if you have shocks mounted to your C cap and would like to install this system ABOVE the knuckle you will likely need to purchase our weld on c-cap mounts. Steering stabilizer setups will need modification to be reinstalled.

  1. Eric T

Top-notch quality with great customer support. The install videos made all the difference for me in deciding to purchase these and take on a DIY project. Very easy to adjust and makes the Bronco drive like a new vehicle off the lot when combined with the TRO installation, trackbar riser bracket and adjustable track bar. This is one of the several Duff upgrade pieces that my alignment shop called very high-quality hardware. This shop does high volume work on mostly 4WD vehicles for a popular local custom tire/wheel business. Their experience is significant, and they spoke quite well of this steering system in terms of function, design and quality.

  2. John Spurlock (verified owner)

This system is great. Easy to install especially if you get the tapered setup with it instead of drilling out your knuckles. Your alignment guy will also thank you with the ease of adjustments. I’ve done 3 of these setups now. The biggest improvement was on a lifted bronco that still had the Y-steering linkage.

  3. Gary Kirby (verified owner)

I installed it under the knuckle with the tapered stud kit. Easy installation and great quality.

  4. ramey3 (verified owner)

Game changing difference from my previous setup!

  5. linsey melancon (verified owner)

I was very satisfied with the construction and all required hardware present, Installed complete over the Knuckle Heim Kit with raised Trackbar bracket, & tapered bolts, along with Duff long arms, eliminated all bump steer on my 1975 with 5.5″ JB lift and 35″ MasterCraft MTs, drives straight as an arrow at 80 mph on Louisiana roads. Money well spent.
