What is a trac bar riser bracket and why do you need one? The trac bar riser bracket takes an age-old problem and not only approaches it from a completely different point of view but it also minimizes two of the Bronco’s biggest frontend problems. 1. Bump steer 2. Damage from trail obstacles.

ALL Bronco owners have or will experience bump steer at least once while owning, driving, and upgrading their Bronco. Some barely notice it and others have almost or completely lost control of their Bronco because of it. The way a 66-77 Bronco’s front end is designed, bump steer cannot be removed only reduced. Standard trac bar frame drop brackets and drop pitman arms remove BAD bump steer but they do not remove NORMAL bump steer. This is where the Trac Bar Riser Bracket shines. When properly installed, it can remove almost all normal bump steer and eliminate potential frame damage in most cases. This reduction in bump steer makes for a smooth ride no matter how big the bump or how rough the road is. Plus, this bracket will completely eliminate the need of a drop pitman arm and in many suspension systems the need for a drop trac bar frame bracket. The Trac Bar Riser Bracket is also the star of the show in our very popular Bump Steer Eliminator kit.

Many Bronco owners like to be prepared. Most do not go looking for trouble but every once in awhile trouble finds them and we ALL want our Bronco’s to be capable enough to handle anything. The Trac Bar Riser Bracket allows you to move your steering tie rod linkage above the knuckle and get it out of harm’s way when you’re off-road. Without the Trac Bar Riser Bracket in place, steering moved above the knuckle would cause serious bump steer issues so make sure to buy our Trac Bar Riser Bracket before you move your steering!

This is a top-quality product that fits just right. It is the only piece I did not install myself of the Duck Tuff system. Instead, I reached out to the local community college welding instructor who sent me a capable mobile welding student. He was able to view the installation videos and arrived knowledgeable about the process. The videos also helped me grind the axle, remove the existing bolt, prep with weld-through primer and have the bracket bolted up when the welder arrived. The printed instructions are helpful but the videos are pure gold when it came to welding this bracket. I don’t think I would have bought the product otherwise just because the whole welding thing was beyond my capability and gear. The quality of the bracket and the videos made this surprisingly simple.

  2. Christopher S Androw (verified owner)

Was hoping it would be a exact fit for my axle to go along with the other bump steer corrections but due to the axle being slighly modified (width) I’ll have to make some adjustments to the bracket. Good news is the bracket is very beafy and well designed so a little grinding here and there wont affect the end result I’m looking for. The guys at the shop have been very patient and helpful in making the adjustments.

  4. linsey melancon (verified owner)

I was very satisfied with the construction and all required hardware present, Installed complete over the Knuckle Heim Kit with raised Trackbar bracket, & tapered bolts, along with Duff long arms, eliminated all bump steer on my 1975 with 5.5″ JB lift and 35″ MasterCraft MTs, drives straight as an arrow at 80 mph on Louisiana roads. Money well spent.

  5. Ryan Hubbard

Using this with tie rod over steering set up got the steering geometry between my tracbar and drag link as close to perfect as possible which eliminates bump steer. Great product.

Fits perfect and works great with a tie rod on top of knuckle flip. Also the new recommended cut off and weld around the old track bar bolt made install a breeze! These guys are awesome, best customer service in the biz!!

  11. neil Smith

I recently put in an order for a steering kit. They asked for pictures and even gave me a call to help me get the right geometry needed for my solid axle swap. These guys are awesome I would highly recommend them!

  12. Rob Bendt

Great fitment. The correct amount of rise for a tie rod flip. Does not contact the frame when under full stuff like other vendors riser bracket. Easy install if you can weld.

  13. brian rasey

Used the trac bar riser on my SAS Bronco2 to fix my poor steering geometry and it made a huge difference in combination with flipping my tie rods. Easy to install too.

  14. Kevin Beasley

I was very impressed with the construction. Just the part that I need to swap my Duff’s heim joint steering to tie rod over. I love it!
