Installation Note:
  • If you are installing a rear sway bar with our bolt-on torque tamer bracket #5329 the swaybar will need to be spaced away from the axle as it will interfere with the bracket, see this link for the spacers.
  • These sway bars are designed for 2.5"-5.5" of suspension only. If you have more or less, then modifications may be required.
  • The front sway bar is not compatible with hoops or shocks that mount in front of the coil.

DUAL SPORT SWAY BARS Front & Rear - 66-77 Bronco

How to spec out your sway bar kit

Our new Dual sport sway bar configurator allows you to choose a system that is perfect for you. Whether you just need more control on the street or you are wanting to go on and off-road, the new front and rear Dual Sport sway bar systems we offer are perfect for any 66-77 Bronco with 2" to 5.5" of suspension lift.

Every sway bar system starts with a Hellwig sway bar. From there we offer the correct parts you need for your Bronco in the configurator above.

You can start with the basics to make your Bronco behave better on the street. Or, you can choose a system that makes your Bronco highly capable on and off-road now.

Whichever way you choose, the Dual sport front sway bar setup has an optional brand new lower coil retainer that not only holds your coil spring in place but also provides a mount for the sway bar end link. To top it off, the end link mount is designed to allow you to attach your steering in any configuration.

Finally, a sway bar setup that works well with other parts and doesn't lift the front end of your Bronco!

Scroll up to start configuring your dual sport sway bar system.

Sway bars will require modifications when:

  • Broncos have less than 2" of suspension lift
  • Lifting your Bronco over 6" of suspension lift
  • Adding shock hoops to the front of your '66-'77 Bronco

What is a swaybar?

For your money, the best aftermarket investment you can make! Hellwig Sway Bars are an extremely effective handling upgrade you can make to your vehicle. Hellwig sway bars offer quick bolt-on installation that is engineered to perform. An immediate improvement will be felt when you drive through the first corner with a Hellwig sway bar installed. Though most vehicles come equipped with factory-installed sway bars, they are often insufficient for today's load demands. Hellwig sway bars feature larger than stock diameters and precision engineered components to optimize handling and reduce body roll. As featured on the Duck Tuff Suspension System...

The product is very well made. I purchased the quick disconnect option. It works great, probably not necessary unless you go offroad on challenging trails.

What a great new option! Gives you the ability to handle better on the streets.

  3. Darren Thayer (verified owner)

I was surprised at how much this improved the ride and handling! Eliminated the constant rocking side to side motion when cruising back roads. Easy install on a 2 post lift, disconnected the shocks and was able to get coil springs out without loosening the radius arms to install the lower coil retainers. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because if you don’t get the optional quick disconnects you don’t get any hardware for the other end of sway bar links.

      Hi Darren,

Thank you for your review, when purchasing the sway bar you are presented with the option to buy the standard hardware or the quick disconnects. We do this to avoid duplication and help on cost. You can purchase the hardware individually, the part number is #5126.

      It’s also available here – https://dufftuff.com/product/dual-sport-coil-lower-coil-retainer-5-8-hardware/

Thank you for choosing James Duff.

Currently running just the front sway bar, but will be adding the rear as well. Significantly reduces body roll. Noticeable improvement in drivability and control in the turns. Love the quick disconnect system! I’ve also driven the “Duck” with the front and rear setup – like riding on rails. Very nice!

I have a 76 Bronco with a 3 1/2 Duff with 33 tires. We drive our Bronco everywhere, so when it comes to making it drive better, we always looking to try something different, at the last super cel. Duff recommended that I try front and back sway bars. A little spectacle, but willing to always try something. We installed them. And first initial thought was it was no difference, but then as soon as we started making turns in the roads through the mountains. It was like eye-opening difference. Very narrow, winding mountain roads in passing cars was always a challenge. OMG! Duff was right! I don’t think about it just do it.

What a big difference over the factory plates.
