  • We highly recommend purchasing the premium header bolts (3082) and Remflex gaskets (3050) for a trouble-free install.
  • Optional ceramic coating that resists temperatures up to 1600° F. They are chip, and abrasion-resistant; lower underhood and floorboard temperatures; and have a “polished/aluminum” look that does not blue.
  • Optional satin black cerakote option comes with the same benefits and has even higher heat resistance up to 2300° F and cerakote is even more durable than ceramic.

Looking for the best exhaust for your early Bronco? This easy-to-install exhaust has many options to customize it to your Bronco's needs.

After 20 years of selling our dual exhaust kits, we went back to the drawing board to make them more install-friendly and customizable. We separated the back pipes into 2 sections also allowing for options on the exit angles and easy removal for trail riding to avoid tearing them up. If you do smash one of the tailpipes on the trail you can purchase new replacements here. This kit can be used with our headers or stock Early Bronco manifolds (see optional #3091 for manifold downpipes). It comes with custom bent aluminized 14 gauge 2 1/4" diameter pipes and mufflers of your choice: Turbo, Pro, Vortex, Flowmaster 40 series, Magnaflow or Borla.

Fits whether you have a 302 or 351W, stock or heavy-duty aftermarket motor mounts, stock-3" body lift, our Extended Radius Arms, Torque Tamer Traction Bar, 4" Rear Bump Stops and 23-gallon gas tanks.

Use the drop-downs to configure your exhaust. If you have a non-standard engine-transmission combination, please use the notes section at check out and we'll contact you if there is a fitment issue.

NO WELDING REQUIRED, can be installed in your driveway. Exhaust pipes exit just behind both rear wheels, choose 65° or 90° angle.

Comes with instructions, hangers, and mounting hardware.  

Muffler choices:

  • Turbo: Offer less restriction and longer use than glass packs as well as better performance and a nice resonant mellow deep sound. 100% mechanically locked aluminized steel. Quietest of all the options.
  • Cherry Bomb Pro: Deeper more aggressive tone 100% welded aluminized steel with a grey finish. Loudest of all the options. This is what we have on Hobby Horse.
  • Cherry Bomb Vortex: Utilizes fiberglass and a patented baffle design to absorb both high and low-frequency sounds. It has a nice rumble but without the tinny sound of Pro/Flow. Less sound inside the vehicle at speed. Great for rigs that spend a lot of time on the highway. 100% welded aluminized steel with high temp black finish. Highest flow rate available. Slightly larger than the other choices at 14x4.25x10.25" but we've been running these on Hi Ho Silver without issues for several years. They hang down just a little farther than the Torque Tamer.
  • Flowmaster 40 Series: Signature deep more aggressive tone. 100% MIG welded 16 gauge aluminized steel.
  • Magnaflow Stainless Steel: Nice, resonant mellow deep sound.
  • Borla PRO XS Stainless: Compact size is perfect for applications with limited space. Reversible design for installation flexibility. High-quality T-304 austenitic stainless steel will never rust. 100% welded construction for strength. Free Flow design for improved performance. High-temperature continuous-filament fiber (CFF) acoustic material for sound control. Natural mill finish can be brushed or polished prior to installation. Deep mellow rumble then quiets down during cruising.

FAQ

Q: What add-ons should I consider before purchasing this exhaust?
A: If you are purchasing the raw stainless finish headers. We highly suggest wrapping the headers in heatshield products lava wrap to keep the heat out of the engine bay and off the floorboards. We also highly recommend installing the premium header bolts (3082) and Remflex Gaskets (3050) for a trouble-free installation.

Q: Is this system compatible with SS Dominator Headers?
A: No Please see 3141.

Q: Is this system compatible with the advanced adapters AX15 crossmember?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this system compatible with other manufactures headers?
A: No. It is only compatible with the Duff/Drake shorty header (3106)

Q: Is a lift required for the installation of this system?
A: No.

Q: Can I get this system with tailpipes exiting the rear?
A: No, tailpipes that exit the rear will allow exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment on Early Broncos.

Q: I want to buy ceramic or cerakote headers for my new engine will that be a problem?
A: If your new engine requires a break-in period when first fired up then you do NOT want to install new ceramic or cerakote coated headers. use a pair of old manifolds or headers for break-in.

Q: How will I know if my new engine needs to be broken in?
A:  If the new or rebuilt engine has a new flat tappet cam installed, it will need to be broke in.  If the new or rebuilt engine has any roller cam check the mfg guidelines of your cam before breaking in your engine. If no break in is required then you can install any header of your choosing that we offer.

    Very easy to install, hardest part was getting to the header bolts. Exactly what I was looking for. Fixed my exhaust leaks so my EFI can finally learn. Now I don’t smell exhaust fumes! Now I just have to figure out the right muffler. Didn’t give it 5 stars because I received defective headers with my kit. JDI of course took care of me.

    I tried to get pricing from some local exhaust shops for a custom system, most wouldn’t even give me a quote as the body is off for a frame off rebuild. Really? How much easier could I make your job? The prices I did get were more than this kit with freight, and wouldn’t have been this nice. Duffs has hit another home run with this kit! Lots of variables covered and designed into 1 easy to install (with the body on or off) system with plenty of muffler choices too. Thanks again for all the time you put into R&D.     **If you are running Tom’s Bronco Parts SS long tube headers and buy the Duff adapter, don’t bother ordering the Stage 8 collector bolts. They are not long enough to work. You will have to use the bolts that Tom’s provides with their system.

    So far I’ve done a kit for Tom’s bronco long tubes, stock manifolds, and recently WH’s shorty headers. The first two kits were excellent. I know kits like this can require some modifications. On the shorty headers, I had to cut a section out on the pass side. The pipe wanted to go above the Cross member, but it really needed to be straight. So I bought a 18" resonator pipe with slip fit On both sides. I cut the S shape bend out and used the 18" straight and it fit perfectly. All in all, great product.

    Everything arrived in tact and without visible damage. Installing was very simple and fit perfectly. Only negative things I have had an issue with…I have broken about 6 u bolts due to the pipes not sealing. Heated up pipes and cranked down more to stop small leaks at seams. Had to buy about ten more to ensure pipes would compress enough to seal. One of the Flowmaster mufflers had a spot that was not welded on the seam causing a leak there as well. I reached out and the customer rep. Said he would send me a new one after I sent him pictures. I sent them right away, it’s been a week now and still no replacement muffler. I welded up the seam and will reach out in another week if I have not received by then.

    This exhaust system came in the mail within a few days and was super easy to install. I recommend this system to anyone who is considering replacing the exhaust in their bronco.
    I have the body off my frame, and a very stock set up. It took a little wiggling and twisting to get everything to line up correctly, but with an extra pair of hands to hold the pipes, I am very happy with how everything looks. I didn’t need to modify the pipes at all.
    Just add a little grease to them so they don’t get stuck together!

    I wanted new easy to install exhaust… who else to call ? Easy Duffs !!!
    I called their Tech line because I’m a Firefighter not Bronco Specialist…
    Tech guy walked me through the whole order , asked me questions about my type of driving etc..
    We decided on which muffler choice to get… Bam a few days later it was at my door.
    Exhaust was a breeze to install (except lower passenger side flange bolt to manifold… kind and of a bugger …
    A few short hours later I have a new , Bad A@@ sounding Bronco….

    I had a pretty custom setup I was looking for. with a 351, ax 15, dana 20. I looked at many options for finding a system that would fit without having to do a lot of fabricating. Finally I contacted Monster Mike by email after several back and forth emails he recommended the long tube headers and dual exhaust setup. I ordered this with the ceramic coated header option, and I have always liked the sound of magnaflow mufflers and I like the fact they are stainless steel. this is not offered on the website as an option so again I emailed monster Mike. they set me up with a custom kit that had everything I wanted. when I got it, it fit perfectly no clearance issues and it looks amazing.     Exhaust system arrived in heave cardboard box. After opening the box everything was packed well and in good order. Predicting the exhaust pipes required minimal filing and rounding the edges of the pipes. Everything fit as expected and a now installed. Looks great also.

    I received a call from James Duff to ask me some question about modifications to my bronco. I had a 3.5″ suspension lift, NV3550 trans, and 23gl tank. They though the new kit would fit the NV3550 trans. When I opened the box it was missing the after muffler pipes, call, they shipped next day. Installed the down pipes and them the intermediate pipes. The angle was a little off because trans cross member. The drivers side was hanging to low and the passenger side was to high/angled up to the point the muffler would not install. Took some measurements and headed to a muffler shop. Tweaked the bends on the driver side, up and then the second bend back down, pushed it up about 2″. Passenger side increased the bend back down about 3″, mufflers installed perfectly. Everything else installed easily The only reason I gave the 4 was because the after muffler pipes were not in the original shipment.
