These parts are just like the stock 73-77 Bronco parts no longer available from Ford. This kit consists of a new main shaft, tailhousing, bearing retainer, seal and hardware. The installation is easy since the cross-member bolts directly to the new tail section. Your 3-speed drive sleeve might need shortened to use with the new output shaft. No driveshaft modifications are necessary. An aftermarket shifter or C4 Auto shifter from a Mustang, Pinto or 73-77 Bronco will be needed more info

The Ford AOD adapter to the Bronco Dana 20 is 6.00” in length. The adapter material is 356 T-6 heat treated aluminum alloy, and the adapter has a provision to retain the original early Bronco mount. The adapter kit includes an adapter housing, new AOD output shaft, spud shaft, retainer, bearing, snap ring, gasket, seal, o-ring, fastening hardware and adapter instructions. The adapter assembly will fit any 1966-77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case. However, the T-style transfer case shifter linkage is required. This adapter kit is designed for exclusive use with the first generation Ford AOD automatic transmission (1980-1987). This 4 speed, overdrive transmission was first introduced during the 1980-87 model years. A new main 88-93 shaft is included in this kit which works fine in the early transmission. In 1988, Ford changed the oiling system of the AOD. If your donor transmission is a 1988 or newer, please order PN 3515.

The 88 and newer Ford automatic overdrive transmission (AOD) has improved lubrication and is more capable of handling the V8. This trans is both larger and longer than the 3spd and will require the crossmember to be moved back approximately 1.5”. This will likely require driveline modification, a possible body lift, or modification of the transmission tunnel braces. This kit consists of an output shaft, tail housing and a special spud shaft for joining to a Dana 20. Disassembly of the transmission is necessary for installation (when using a 2wd donor transmission) and it’s recommended that it be done by a trained technician.

If you want the extra strength of a C6 trans, this is the adapter kit to use. The modifications are a bit more extensive than for the C4, but for heavy duty use this trans is a better choice. You must have a 4WD C6 trans with a 31 spline output shaft. The shaft will have to be shortened. If you have a 66-68 Bronco, you will have to replace the front driveshaft with the later style, #3811 and #3813 Companion Flange. If you have a 73-77 Bronco with the J-Pattern transfer case shifter, the mounting assembly and possibly the shift rails will have to be modified or replaced with our #2150 J-Pattern Transfer Case Shifter to reduce the modifications. You will also need an automatic shifter. This kit includes a new extension housing, a new 31 spline spud shaft, bearing retainer and necessary gaskets, seals and hardware. The Ford Top Cover 4-speed, found in 66 and newer Fords, is the best 4-speed available for all-around driving. The way to spot this trans is by it’s 10 bolt top cover. The small block 4-speed from a 289/302 with a 2.78:1 1st gear is the best choice. This kit comes with a new main shaft splined to accept the stock sleeve in the transfer case, seals, gaskets and a special bushing to be installed in your stock V8 3-speed tail section, which requires minor modification. Crossmember doesn’t need to be relocated and the 3-speed clutch linkage can be kept. Our OLD (discontinued) #2101 4-speed shifter is needed to complete the job. more info

This setup will give a Bronco a super low 1st gear approximately double that of the stock 3-speed. The NP435 can be found in 67-83 F100-F350. The T18 can be found in 68-82 F100-F250. The trans you select must have a 28 spline output shaft. The new overall length of the NP435 and the adapter will directly replace the original V8 assembly, so no driveshaft modification is necessary. The T18 and adapter are approximately 1” longer than the original V8 assembly so driveshaft mods are necessary. This kit includes a machined aluminum adapter housing, gaskets and bolts. The gearshift handle will have to be rebent to come out under the dash. Mods to the floorboard will also be necessary. more info

The adapter assembly will fit any 1966-77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case.

Transmission

This adapter kit is designed for exclusive use with the Ford Truck T & C 4 speed overdrive top loader transmission with a case length of 10.250” and the transmission case is made of aluminum. This transmission is referred as the “RUG” transmission and casting numbers could be 2603606 or 2603729. The “RUG” transmission was used in Ford trucks 1980-89. Additional parts required when using the truck 4 speeds.

The C4 3-speed automatic is the most popular transmission for the V8 swap. Two different length C4 adapters eliminate the need for driveshaft modifications. To determine which adapter you need, measure the overall length of your existing trans assembly from the back of the engine block to the front of your transfer case, then match the closest possible length below. The transmission code numbers can be checked, but keep in mind the tag on the door may not match the vehicle. Therefore, checking the physical length is preferred. When using a C4 with a 5.0L, its best to use an engine control computer that came with a manual transmission, as they don't require input from transmission sensors. The Ford C4 adapter to the Borg-Warner 1350 transfer case are available in 2 lengths: 8.750", and 11.50". By selecting the correct length adapter you should be able to get close to your stock drive-train length. To do this, take your overall stock drive-train Length (from the bellhousing to transfer case connection surface) and subtract the length of the C4 transmission (17") Adapter material is 356 T-6 heat treated aluminum alloy and the adapter has a provision for a transmission mount. Our adapter kit includes an adapter housing, new C4 output shaft, vent, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions. Transfer Case This adapter assembly fits the Ford Borg-Warner 1350 series transfer case found in the Bronco II, Ranger & Explorer trucks. The transfer case has a 25 spline female input sleeve. This transfer case has been manufactured in both a manual shift and electric shift. Transmission The kit is designed for exclusive use with the Ford C4 automatic transmission. The Ford C4 is a 3 speed transmission was used between 1963-’82. The transmission bellhousing is Removable, the overall length measures 17.00”.

The adapter kit includes a adapter plate, special spud shaft with 31 internal spline, shifter linkage bracket, transfer case pivot bolt, bearing retainer, sealed bearing snap ring, gaskets, o-ring, fastening hardware and adapter instructions. Transfer Case The adapter assembly will fit any 1966-77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case. This adapter will only work with the “T” style shifter. Transfer cases with a “J” style linkage will require modifications to retain this linkage. This cast iron, gear driven case has a low range of 2.46:1 and a front output shaft on the driver’s side. Transmission The kit is designed for exclusive use with the Ford ZF 5 speed manual transmission ( ZF S542 & S547). This heavy duty 5 speed is all aluminum with an integral bellhousing to the case. It can be easily identified by it’s diamond-shape casting ribs and a small 4-bolt top cover. The S542 was used in Ford trucks 1987-94 and the S547 1995 to present.

This adapter plate assembly is used to adapt a Ford 302 / 5.0L to the Jeep NV3550 5 speed transmission. The adapter plate is .920” in length and is manufactured from 356-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. Included in the adapter plate kit you will receive an adapter plate, new clutch disc, pilot bushing, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions. Note: This adapter plate design kit requires a Ford truck bell housing. Transmission The NV3550 was used in the Jeep TJ Wranglers equipped with the 4.0L engine. The transmission case length is 24.00”. It has a 1-1/8”, 10 spline input shaft with a pilot tip of .750”. The output shaft is a flush 23 spline. The bolt pattern on the face of NV3550 looks identical to the AX15, except for a shift rail that protrudes from the top front of the NV3550.

4 to 1 low first gear and .22% overdrive means excellent driveability both on and off road. This transmission is great as a daily driver and weekend wheeler. Smoother shifting than the NV4500 it provides a less “truck like” feel. Its smaller overall size lends itself easily to swapping in without the need for relocating the transfer case or driveline changes. This transmission has a 300 lb.-ft Torque rating with a 7,200# Gross Vehicle Weight rating (11,000#GCW). Required to do this swap is an adapter from the transmission to a stock bellhousing complete with clutch disk and an adapter to the transfercase with shifter bracket, cross member mounting kit, shifter knob and shifter handle. A 1” body lift eases installation. The NV3550 is no longer being produced. If you need a complete transmission, please check with us about the all new AX15.

This transmission has over a 400 lb.-ft Torque capacity rating, with a 7,200# Gross Vehicle Weight rating (11,000# GCW). The AX15 assembly is so similar in length to the factory 3 speed or 4 speed that no driveline changes are usually required (when retaining the Dana 20 Transfer case). A 1" body lift is recommended for the best transmission alignment and ease of installation. (Installation with a J Pattern Dana 20 requires use of a Twin Stick shifter.)
